I can still remember exactly how I decided to change my diet to vegan 9 years ago. 

The Challenge

It was a gradual process that began with a kind of challenge. I had read a lot in the news about human rights violations in Russia and wanted to do something positive in the world. My first thought, admittedly somewhat random, was to live a vegetarian lifestyle for a week. 

I found it surprisingly easy, so I decided to stick with it for a little longer. My partner at the time also took part in the challenge and even became vegan thanks to a friend at the gym. She explained the health benefits of the diet from a sports and ethical perspective, which really impressed us. It was through her that I first came into contact with this diet, and it was a great experience to go through this change together with my partner.

However, when I was on vacation in Mexico and visiting my family, I found it difficult to resist dishes that contained meat. But little by little I became more consistent and was able to eat vegan even at family gatherings.

Finally, I went on a trip to Australia with my partner and decided to eat vegan during the trip so that he doesn't feel left out. After the trip, I kept it up and felt very comfortable.

A healthier lifestyle

There was another factor that made me change my diet. At the time, I was working in an agency and had extremely long working hours until late at night. I didn't exercise much and often ordered fast food. As a result, I gained a lot of weight and felt unwell.

Why I became vegan
I decided to quit my job so I could have more time for exercise and a healthier diet. When I switched to a vegan diet, I felt fantastic. I lost weight, had more energy and just felt healthier.

The Discovery of Dominion

At some point I came across the Film Dominion . I had seen a few documentaries about animal husbandry and meat production before, but this film was different. I had to keep pausing the film and couldn't process everything at once. But it had an incredible impact on me and I couldn't go back a step afterward.

Although health is important to me and I try to pay attention to it, my primary focus is to cause as little suffering as possible to other living beings. I believe that every individual can make a difference and work towards a better world. By switching to a vegan diet, I am doing my part to minimize the suffering of animals and at the same time protect the environment.

The discovery of new dishes

For me, switching to a vegan diet was also a journey of discovery and experimentation. I started veganizing all the dishes I knew and discovering new recipes. I became more creative in cooking and was able to discover new taste experiences.
